How it works

Spornado System

Airborne crop disease detection, built for the field.

Spornado turns an invisible biological signal into practical crop-protection information. Simple field sampling is paired with highly sensitive molecular analysis to identify specific pathogens before disease is easy to see.

01

Sample

Spornado continuously collects airborne biological material in the crop canopy using a simple field sampler and disposable cassette.

02

Detect

Targeted molecular analysis identifies specific crop pathogens at very low levels. Multiple pathogen targets can be tested from the same sample.

03

Understand

Repeated sampling shows how pathogen pressure changes over time and across locations, adding biological context to weather, scouting and agronomic data.

04

Act

Growers, agronomists and crop-protection teams can use that information to make earlier, more precise disease-management decisions.

The Spornado advantage

Simple hardware. Sophisticated information.

Spornado was intentionally designed to be practical to deploy across real agricultural operations. Cassettes are quick to exchange, the hardware is straightforward to manage, and the complexity stays where it belongs: in the molecular analysis and interpretation of the data.

That combination makes Spornado useful at the scale of an individual field and practical for distributed monitoring networks across regions, customers or research programs.
